Players in WOW help Japan tsunami victims

[May 4] Online gaming is not usually associated with saving the world or a means to improving the life relationships of many, at least not in the literal sense. When you think of gaming, you wow gold think of completing quests and leveling up! With the tsunami in Japan in early 2011, many businesses have taken to finding a way to help the Japanese people. The makers of World of Warcraft (WOW), Blizzard Entertainment, have created an in-world pet or companion that will generate donations to help the Japanese tsunami and earthquake survivors. As a massive multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG), WOW has attracted players worldwide. With the initiative by Blizzard to help the people of Japan through their new companion animation in Azeroth, gamers around the world will be able to make a difference in the family relationships of the Japanese people.

Many players in World of Warcraft purchase pets to have as companions as they fight in battles and raids alongside their buy wow gear guildies - guilds are groups created in WOW by players who support each other in battle and completion of quests. In-world, players are able to transform themselves into heroes including warriors, shamans, and hunters. Now, players will have an additional pet to purchase to help the Japanese people still struggling in the aftermath of record-breaking devastation resulting from the March 2011 tsunami.

The new pet, called a Cenarion Hatchling, basically the infant version of a hippogryph, will be for sale through July 31st, 2011. (A hippogryph is a flying mount used in World of Warcraft as a means of in-world transportation.) Proceeds from the purchase of this time sensitive pet purchase by WOW players will go to benefit the American Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief efforts. 100% of the money obtained from the purchase of the Cenarion Hatchling will go to the Red Cross.
