Food prices to continue dropping in grocery wars

Coles has upped the ante, slashing prices of a range of popular products including milk, lamb and cheese by as much as 29 per cent.

As part of a move the wow gold grocery giant says will save shoppers up to $450 a year, Coles will also launch a new advertising campaign tonight.

Since the major supermarkets began dropping prices, Coles claims to have slashed prices on more than 6000 store items. We know our customers need our help now more than ever and we intend to keep going with new price cuts . right across the store."

Coles expects to increase orders for the wow items new products as lower prices drive higher sales, boosting sales for suppliers such as Bega - producer of Coles-branded cheese.

The advertising campaign for the new price wow gold cuts launch features rock band Status Quo, whose 1975 Down Down hit record was part of the original Coles Down Down price campaign.

Coles Group marketing director Simon McDowell last wow items night said the grocery giant had invested $800 million in the program over two years and was committed to keeping prices low.

"The simple fact for us is wow gold that cost of living continues to go up. That's why we're continuing to bring more prices down," he said.

"We looked at the things that all Australian families buy, whether its cheese, lamb, milk, bread, these are the staples used every day by families, which is why we try to slash them."
